Old Town Alexandria has a way of slowing everything down, the cobblestone streets, soft waterfront light, and tucked-away corners that feel removed from the busier parts of Northern Virginia.

Eunsol and Jeff brought along their sweet dogs, Samak and Ohm, who are such a big part of their lives. Since both pups can get a bit nervous around crowds, we intentionally stayed in less busy areas of Old Town Alexandria so everyone could feel relaxed and at ease. Instead of following a rigid plan, we moved at a slower pace and allowed the evening to unfold naturally as we explored.

One of the most memorable parts of the session was having their parents there to help. They stayed nearby with the dogs and did an amazing job helping keep Samak and Ohm calm and focused, gently grabbing their attention whenever needed. It honestly became such a sweet part of the experience, watching them step in so naturally, laughing with us, and making sure everything ran smoothly while still being fully present. At times, it felt like a little behind the scenes family effort that made the entire session even more meaningful.

While their parents helped with the dogs, the couple was able to fully enjoy their time together. Their energy was soft, easy, and very connected. We wandered through quiet streets, paused near the waterfront, and took our time letting moments happen without rushing.

What I loved most was how everything came together in such a natural way. The setting, the people, the dogs, and the support from their families all played a role in shaping the session. Old Town Alexandria engagement sessions are already special because of the charm and variety of the location, but this one stood out because of how personal it felt.

By the end of the evening, it didn’t feel like just a photoshoot, it felt like documenting a small piece of their life as it is right now: full of love, support, and two very adored dogs right at the center of it all
